On Tuesday, October 20, MTCHS sophomores and juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT during the regular school day.
We encourage all test takers to get a good nightโ€™s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast to start the day strong!
๐Ÿ“ต Please note: No phones, smartwatches, or other electronic devices are allowed during testing.
๐Ÿ•“ Testing will begin at 7:45 AM and continue until lunchtime.

The PSAT/NMSQT is a practice SAT for most students, but juniors who perform exceptionally well may qualify as National Merit Scholars.

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States.

Dressed for their futureโ€”and meeting Dragons already building theirs! ๐Ÿ‰

Friday's College and Career Day took our Dragons beyond the classroom and into local businesses and college programs to see what their future could look like!

At Boise State University, students toured engineering and met an MTCHS alum who now works at the university.

We also visited JST Manufacturing and connected with another MTCHS alum working there. How cool is it to explore a possible career and meet someone who once sat in your classroom?

Seeing where our alumni are now made those possibilities feel a little more realโ€”and gave our students plenty to think about for their own futures.

A big thank-you to Boise State, JST Manufacturing, and all the businesses that opened their doors to our Dragons!

Mr. Holbrookโ€™s Jr. Physics classes took advantage of this beautiful day to head outside and do what every physics class should occasionally doโ€ฆ launch a rocket! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

This was a team effort: some students helped prepare and fire the rocket, others captured photos and videos, many offered opinions, and everyone made sure the countdown was loud and enthusiastic! But this wasnโ€™t just for fun, their assignment was to use all information gathered to calculate how high their rocket traveledโ€”turning a few seconds of flight into a whole lot of learning!
