Today, we honor tradition, celebrate partnership, and protecting our community with Rural Metro Fire - Josephine County and the inaugural push-in ceremony of their new fire engine!
The push-in ceremony is a time-honored fire service tradition dating back to the days of horse-drawn fire apparatus. Before modern fire engines, firefighters would unhitch the horses and physically push their equipment back into the firehouse. Today, that tradition continues as a way to welcome a new apparatus into service, honor the generations of firefighters who came before, and celebrate the next chapter in serving our communities.
While the equipment has changed tremendously over the years, one thing remains the same: the commitment to answering the call and protecting our neighbors.
This new engine represents more than an investment in equipment. It represents a continued commitment to public safety, the dedication of our first responders, and the partnerships that help keep our rural communities strong.
We are proud to partner with Rural Metro Fire in support of our shared mission to protect the people, families, and communities we serve. Strong partnerships are built on collaboration, trust, and a common commitment to showing up when our neighbors need us most.
Congratulations to the Rural Metro Fire team on this exciting addition to your fleet! May this engine serve your firefighters and our community well for many years to come.
Honoring the past. Serving the present. Protecting our future — together.
