🎄🇺🇸 Back Home, Giving Back 🇺🇸🎄

This holiday season, RSS Mesa’s newest Marines are embodying the true spirit of the Corps — selflessness, dedication, and service. While many are enjoying time with their loved ones, these Marines are spending their well-earned leave volunteering to make a difference.

They’ve set aside time to collect and organize gifts for families in need, ensuring every child experiences the magic of Christmas morning.

From the battlefield to the community, Marines never stop serving. It’s not just a uniform we wear; it’s a commitment to others that goes far beyond duty. 💪🎁

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek

SSgt Cors embodies this principle daily, influencing not only new Marines coming in but also shaping the careers and lives of career Marines across Arizona and the Southwest region of the United States. His dedication, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to excellence ensure that the future of our Marine Corps is in outstanding hands.

Thank you, Staff Sergeant Cors, for being a leader who inspires others to rise to their potential and for making our Corps stronger every day. The Marine Corps’ future is brighter with leaders like you in the fight. Semper Fidelis.

In the Marine Corps, breaking bread holds significant symbolic and practical importance. The act of sharing a meal together fosters camaraderie, builds trust, and strengthens the bonds among Marines, who rely on teamwork and cohesion both on and off the battlefield.

Tradition and Brotherhood: Sharing a meal is a long-standing military tradition, symbolizing unity. In the Marine Corps, breaking bread reflects a sense of equality and shared experiences, where rank and background are set aside in favor of mutual respect and support. It’s a reminder that every Marine is part of a larger family, which is vital for maintaining morale.

Celebrating Equality, Breaking Barrier's 💪 ✨

August 26 recognizes Women's Equality Day, established by Joint Resolution of Congress in 1971. The day commemorates the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. The observance has grown to include focusing attention on women's continued efforts toward gaining full equality.

Pictured above is the 2023 Department of Defense’s Women’s Equality Day poster. It depicts the first all-female team of naval aviators to conduct a Super Bowl flyover at the 2023 Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.
