House of Refuge is a nonprofit organization in Arizona that provides safe, stable housing and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness.

Situated on nearly 20 acres in Southeast Mesa, our program offers 82 two-bedroom single family homes and a chapel/support center which allows us to provide a stable, family-friendly environment to program participants. On any given day approximately 100 adults and 150 children call House of Refuge “home.” Many come from a history of domestic violence and children often are the innocent victims. To us, a safe home and community is vital.

A heartfelt thank you to the Glow Forward Foundation at A.T. Still University for their generous donation of more than 300 beauty and personal hygiene products for the families at House of Refuge.

Special thanks to Tiffany and Chrystal for coordinating this incredible donation drive and helping make it a success. Their efforts, along with the generosity of everyone who contributed, will help provide essential personal care items that support the dignity, confidence, and well-being of the families we serve.

Donations like these help ease financial burdens for parents and ensure that families have access to everyday necessities as they work toward self-sufficiency and a brighter future.

Thank you, Glow Forward Foundation, for making a meaningful difference in our community and for helping bring hope to the families of House of Refuge!

"Being here has given me peace. I’m not worried about whose couch I’m going to have to jump to next. Seeing my son calm and happy instead of being in a different location every time he visits with me has changed everything. I actually spend more time with my son now, and that keeps me motivated.”

This is what stability does.
It quiets anxiety.
It strengthens families.
It allows parents to show up fully for their children.

Because of a safe place to land, a father can focus on what matters most—being present, consistent, and hopeful for his son’s future.

This is a Face of Hope.

After months of hard work, one of our residents sat down with her case manager to check on the status of her apartment application. She had done everything she could. Paid off a judgment. Built her savings. Improved her credit. Secured a better paying job.

Still, there was no guarantee.

They made the call together and waited.

The first words they heard were simple.

Her application had been approved.

Just like that, everything shifted. What once felt uncertain became real. She is now preparing to sign the lease on her own apartment this June.

At the same time, she is enrolled in college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Social Work and has earned her Peer Recovery Support Services certification.

This is what your support makes possible. Real moments. Real change. Real homes.

We are thankful for the support of BASIS Chandler Students Club BC2M (Bringing Change 2 Mind) and their thoughtful donation they collected as they wrapped up their school year.

Items like deodorant, toothpaste, and hygiene supplies may seem small; yet, they make a big impact for the families we serve every day.
