Here is how to enter the family book character pumpkin decorating contest!

📖 Pick a Character: Choose your favorite book character to bring to life!

🎃 Decorate (No Carving!): Use paint, felt, hot glue, fake fur, clay, or other fun craft supplies to turn your pumpkin into the character.

❌ Tip: Please do not carve real pumpkins so they stay fresh for display at school!

📆 Bring your decorated pumpkin to school the week of Oct 19. You can drop it off in the front office or directly in the Library.

🖊 Entry Tag: Be sure your family's name is attached to your pumpkin. The Librarians will assign you an entry number upon arrival. Only one pumpkin entry per family, please!

👻 Contest & Judging: Judging will take place during Spooktacular Night on Oct 22nd in the Library.

🎃 We can't wait to see your designs!

👻Student Council is excited to sell Boo Grams again!! $1 Boo Grams will be sold the week of October 19 - 23 (the 1st week we return from Fall Break).

- Boo Grams will ONLY be sold Monday, October 19th-Friday, October 23rd.
- They will be sold after school and by Student Council Teachers (Ms. Smith, Mrs. Brandl, & Mrs. Sandoval).
- Bus riders MUST purchase Boo Grams ONLY from Student Council Teachers. They CANNOT buy them after school.
- Kindergarten students will purchase Boo Grams through their teachers.
- Students MUST know the recipient's first & last name, their grade level, and their teacher's name to write on the Boo Gram.
- First come, first served! They sell out quickly!
- Boo Grams are $1 each and come with a mystery Halloween resin figurine!
- They'll be delivered to classrooms on Friday, October 30th.
- Parents may purchase Boo Grams for their children in the front office.

On November 3, 2026, voters living within the Town of Gilbert and the City of Mesa, within the boundaries of the Gilbert Public Schools district, will consider Proposition 422, a bond election that would fund maintenance and renovations at GPS schools across Gilbert and Mesa.

If approved, a portion of the funds would be designated for Meridian Elementary for proposed campus improvements, including:

Security Priority: Secured entryway for Meridian Elementary
Critical Facility Upgrades: HVAC System, Plumbing System, Roofing, Fire Sprinklers
Technology: Security with Unified Paging System and Classroom AV Refresh

As old debt is paid off through the secondary property tax rate, new bond debt takes its place, resulting in no increase in the tax rate provided the assessed value of property remains at least at its current level. Based on current projections, the bond tax rate is expected to remain the same and/or decrease from the current rate of $0.85 per $100 of assessed value, down from $1.10 in 2021 per $100 of assessed value.
