One more thing….During my 8 years serving on the Governing Board of Mesa Public Schools, I have come to believe even more strongly that a great education lifts everyone-the students and the community around them. Currently, not every MPS graduate qualifies for in-state tuition at our Arizona Universities and that is WRONG. Join me in voting YES ON 308 so that all of our high school graduates can have in-state tuition when they earn their college admission. It is the right thing to do.

JR Wright. Why am I supporting JR Wright for the Mesa School Board? He knows the issues confronting our kids and families. He is the involved dad of seven, the foster dad of one. He believes in protecting parents choices and supporting educators. He is conservative, principled, calm, knows how to work together to get things done and how to lead. A small business owner, he is invested in work force development and great outcomes for ALL students. As a disclaimer, he is my brother-in-law, and I helped recruit him to run—because he is one of the best people I know. Mesa will be lucky to have him on the board. Join me in voting for JR Wright for Mesa School Board.

Spending the happiest morning helping lots of folks receive their Covid vaccine at Emerson Elementary in partnership with Corbin’s Legacy. There are so many grateful people—it is a pleasure to volunteer!

I wanted to do something I haven't done on this page before. I want to share my endorsement of former MPS school board member, and current MPS teacher Michelle Udall for Arizona State Legislator in LD 25. Michelle has served as the head of the Education Committee in the house. I know her to be thoughtful, informed, level- headed and a much needed proponent of public education. As a teacher, she knows what is happening in our schools and has always been willing to listen and advocate. Re-elect Michelle Udall, to help us move forward with public education!

Dr. Fourlis had a busy first day! With her, good things are ahead for Mesa Public Schools. Join me in being ready to help in any way.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Andi Fourlis as the superintendent of Mesa Public Schools. Fourlis is an Arizona native who began her schooling in Mesa Public Schools at Lowell Elementary. She started her career in 1992 as a teacher in the Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix and joined the Scottsdale Unified School District in 1996 where she spent 19 years as a teacher, director, executive director and assistant superintendent. In 2015 she joined the Arizona Science Center as the Chief Learning Officer. In 2017 she joined Mesa Public Schools as the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning and later served as deputy superintendent.

"I am honored and humbled to be chosen by the Governing Board to lead the greatest public school district in Arizona," Fourlis says. "Mesa Public Schools is a student-centered, future-focused district. We will continue to harness the traditions and successes of the past to lead us into a bright future. I believe in each of us; and I believe in all of us - together."

We look forward to working alongside Dr. Fourlis in pursuing our promise, that every student is known by name, served by strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and community. To learn more about Dr. Fourlis, visit www.mpsaz.org/superintendent.

I've been impressed with some of the great partnerships that have occurred as we work together to meet the needs of our most vulnerable families! Thank you!

Elect Jenny Richardson Mesa School Board

I was born and raised in Mesa and now send my own children to the same neighborhood schools I attended. It is important to me to fill our schools with dedicated, well-trained teachers and staff, wonderful programs and supports and multiple opportunities so that Mesa can continue to be a great place for everyone to work, play and raise a family. I believe it takes collaboration with a whole community to do that for each one of our nearly 65,000 students, and I am committed to our success.
