Today we updated our plant labels with new, custom stakes from Blended Customs at the Butterfly Trail with help from our board member, Millie Arnold and a few Monarch friends! 🦋

Partnerships Keep Mesquite Beautiful! Thank you to Vanguard High School JROTC for providing the finishing touch to our Youth Environmental Leader beautification project sponsored by Atmos Energy at the MesquiteTx Public Library System!

It’s Mesquite Recycles Day! We will be at Poteet accepting donations for The Mesquite Animal Shelter (bedding food, toys), Library (books, dvds, magazines), Lions Club (glasses and cell phones), Keep Mesquite Beautiful (shoes), and Sharing Life (household items/clothes) and shredding and recycling electronics, tires, bulbs, and metal until noon!

Thank you to our concerned citizen for looking out for us, but the “guy cutting the fence” is our executive director, Jonathan Chitty installing the new rope perimeter boarders at the Butterfly Trail! Thanks Mesquite Police Department - Texas for your quick response! Now y’all go see what’s growing at the trail, snap a photo, and be sure to tag us!!

We’re proud to share that Mesquite has been named the Category 9 winner of the 2026 Governor’s Community Achievement Award (GCAA)! 🏆🌿

Presented by Texas Department of Transportation and Keep Texas Beautiful, the GCAA recognizes Texas communities for outstanding leadership in beautification, litter prevention, environmental stewardship, and community improvement.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our volunteers, residents, staff, and community partners who work year-round to keep Mesquite clean, green, and beautiful. As part of the award, our community will receive funding for a landscaping project along a state-maintained right-of-way to help further enhance our community. 🌸🌳
