When the Call Went Out, UA Local 100 Answered.
This weekend, a dedicated group of UA Local 100 members volunteered their time, skills, and hard work at Valor Ranch as part of our C.A.R.E.S. program.
Together, we kicked off the first phase of a multi-weekend project to build a cattle fence that will help the ranch raise its own beef and move closer to long-term self-sufficiency. What may look like a fence to some is much more than that—it’s an investment in a mission that supports women veterans as they rebuild their lives and create new opportunities for themselves and their families.
Projects like this don’t happen because someone writes a check. They happen because skilled men and women are willing to show up, put on their work boots, and use their trade to make a difference.
Every weld, every cut, and every hour donated this weekend brought us one step closer to helping Valor Ranch expand its ability to serve those who have already served our country.
This project is far from finished, and we’ll be back out there in the coming months. If you’ve ever wondered how you can give back through your trade, this is it. Whether you’re a welder, pipefitter, plumber, HVAC technician, apprentice, or retiree, there’s a place for you on projects like these.
The strength of our union isn’t measured only by the work we do on the jobsite—it’s measured by what we’re willing to do for our communities when nobody is watching.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered this weekend. You represented UA Local 100 with pride, professionalism, and a servant’s heart.
If you’d like to be part of future C.A.R.E.S. projects, keep an eye on our page. The work continues, and we’d love to have you alongside us.

UA Local 100 C.A.R.E.S. is gearing up for another volunteer opportunity, and we’re looking for skilled hands to help us make an impact at Valor Ranch 💪
Valor Ranch supports female veterans through a 12-month housing program focused on stability, growth, and long-term success. They’re also giving back to the community in a big way—including a partnership with the North Texas Food Bank that will help feed up to 5,000 families once their hydroponic system is up and running.
🔧 Current Project: Cattle Fence Build
Thanks to Home Depot, materials have been donated and posts are already set. Now we need volunteers to help with:
- Cutting in saddles
- Welding the fence
- General support work
We’re especially looking for welders, and if you have access to your own welding rig and are willing to bring it (or allow it to be used), that would be a huge help. We will have at least one machine on-site.
🚿 Future Opportunity:
There’s also a potential plumbing project to help get their hydroponic system operational—perfect for anyone wanting to get involved on that side.
📅 Volunteer Dates (Weekends):
• May 16
• May 30
• June 6
• June 27
If you’re interested, drop a comment or reach out with:
✔️ Your availability
✔️ Your trade/skills (welding, plumbing, etc.)
✔️ Equipment you may be able to bring
Let’s show what UA Local 100 is all about—using our skills to serve those who’ve served and strengthen our community.

Another incredible year in the books at the 4th Annual UA Local 100 Sporting Clays Tournament! 🎯
We’re proud to be part of such a strong community coming together for an even greater cause — supporting the Local 100 Benevolence Fund. This event keeps getting better every year, and it’s all because of the people behind it.
A huge THANK YOU to all of our sponsors for your continued support, to the volunteers who put in the time and effort to make everything run smoothly, and to everyone who came out to shoot and be part of the day. We couldn’t do it without you.
Already looking forward to next year! 💪

As many of you already know, we lost a good man last week. Robert Pennington was a longtime member, welding instructor, and Executive Board member. He was a mentor and friend to many. He will be missed by all that love him. His services will be held at Local 100 3010 Interstate 30 in Mesquite on Saturday April 25 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Join us as we honor and remember our friend.
