Being a military kid can mean many things – constant moves and new schools, exploring different countries, making new friends at each duty station, navigating time apart from family during deployments, and much more. Through all the ups and downs, military children can always turn to the USO for support.

In honor of Month of the Military Child, the USO wants to ask military kids what YOUR military life has been like and what makes it unique so that we can share your story with the world through the 2026 USO Military Kid Creative Showcase.

Whether you express it by art or in writing – via painting or sketches, essays or poems – we want military kids to answer one question: What does being a military kid mean to you?

A great series for all spouses and fiancés!

Walking into military life can be overwhelming, but your new military family will support you every step of the way. Hosted by the Joint Base San Antonio Readiness Flight, ‘Welcome to the Family’ is an online orientation course designed to help spouses and fiancés confidently navigate the complexities and prepare for their vital role in mission readiness.

These 4-part interactive sessions will equip you with essential knowledge on basic military processes, benefits, and entitlements. Since the classes do not need to be taken in a specific order, you can join via Zoom on any Monday from 1 - 2 pm CT to connect and learn. Registration is required each week.
