Heartbreaking

Retired SFPD deputy chief and her 24-year-old daughter found dead in a suspected murder-suicide carried out by her husband, a retired police sergeant.

Authorities say deputies responded to a 911 call at the family's Mill Valley home Sunday evening after a caller escaped the residence. Ann Mannix, 65, her daughter Katie, and 68-year-old Kevin Mannix were all found dead inside.

Ann Mannix was the first woman to join and later lead San Francisco's SWAT team. Autopsies for all three were scheduled for Tuesday.
