It was a great honor today for Camacol and its directors to have been part of Bauducco’s (a Trustee Member) ribbon cutting ceremony at which time they opened there doors to their new US headquarters and manufacturing facility. They will be adding close to 150 new jobs to our local economy and it with great pleasure that we thank them for allowing us the opportunity to have shared this moment with them.

I would personally like to thank those directors that were able to attend and provide support for this valued member as they shared their gratitude throughout the event. I would also like at this time to thank the office of Miami- Dade County mayor Carlos Jimenez, the office of Commissioner Jose Pepe Diaz who together presented a Certificate of Recognition to Bauducco on this date of August 10th 2016. I would also thank Representative Frank Artiles, our very own Commissioner Gort, Representative Janet Nunez, as well as the Port of Miami and the Vice Consul of Brazil for having supported both Bauducco and Camacol during this event.

Yesterday’s seminar/conversation on the new federal regulations that will increase the minimum wage that must be paid to employees paid on a salary basis starting this December 1st, 2016 was a very productive event to all participants.
During the two-hour session attendees had the opportunity to listen and ask questions to Carmen Rodriguez, a management labor and employment attorney with 30 years of experience.

The Obama administration signed new regulations that increase the minimum wage that must be paid to employees paid on a salary basis. Beginning December 1, 2016, the new minimum salary that must be paid to employees paid on salary will increase to $47,476 ($913/weekly).

Here are the winners of The 2nd Annual Camacol/Miami Marlins Domino Tournament, or how we have come to call it "Rumble In The Ballpark". The winners were the team representing MILNER Business Solutions integrated by Paul Echavarria and W***y Espinosa(pictured below with their trophies).

"Rumble in the Ballpark": Leo and Giorge from Navarro Pharmacy will be returning to this year's Camacol-Miami Marlins Domino Tournament to try and keep their title of "Best Domino Team".

Camacol is taking another important step forward for the benefit of the organization and its members. They have already begun preparatory work on the second floor of our building for what will be Camacol Media: our internet radio station and TV studios. We hope that both projects are completed by the end of this May.

A South Korean delegation headed by Baek, Sun-Ki, Mayor of the County of Chilgok visited CAMACOL last Wednesday as part of the interest of this Asian country in expanding trade ties between Florida and Latin America. The delegation was received by City of Miami Commissioner Wifredo "W***y" Gort who is also Chairman of the Hemispheric Congress of Chambers of Commerce organized by Camacol every year, as well as by our President Nelson Tarke Jr. Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Martin Myongsoo Kim , Director of KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) in Miami and Mayra Figueredo Marketing Specialist KOTRA-Miami. Others that participated from Camacol were Luciano Garcia, Executive Director, Raul Lopez Perez, member of the Board of Directors and Jose Matto, director of the Hemispheric Congress and Patricia Arias from Camacol-MMFM. Rafael Ubeda, from the Chamber of Commerce of Almeria who was visiting Miami also participated in the meeting.

CAMACOL Team participated together with Vioss Vision/Globalcom Communications Group in eMerge Americas 2016. Our staff and partners worked very hard during this two day event and our organization reached another successful milestone this year. CAMACOL's brand enjoyed being recognized by various companies who demonstrated interest in participating in our events and becoming members of the organization.
