Take Stock in Children provides Florida's underserved students with scholarships, mentors and hope!
Our program is based on the principal that given extensive support, motivation and accountability, children will work hard to ensure that they graduate from high school and attain a college degree. We fund our college scholarships and student services through a unique public-private fund raising model, and our mentors generously volunteer their mentoring services to our children. At the beginning of January, National Mentoring Month, six mentored Florida high school student scholars were chosen as 2014 Take Stock in Children’s Leaders for Life Fellows. The 2014 Leaders for Life Fellows are Jorden Holland (Okaloosa County), Daniella Rossi (Indian River County), Jacquelynn Shelton (Pasco County), Kevin Tierney (Volusia County), Jovani Hernandez and Lucero Torres (Desoto, Hardee and Highlands Counties). Congrats to all of you! Stay tuned throughout the week to read about what these six Leaders For Life plan on doing next!
