Informed Families was grateful to visit Start Off SmartTeen Afterschool Program at The Healing Sanctuary in Homestead.
During the visit, teens learned about the dangers of drinking and driving and participated in an interactive impaired goggles activity. The activity brought a lot of smiles and laughter, while also helping students better understand how impairment can affect balance, awareness, and decision-making.
A special thank you to Start Off Smart for sharing this kind message: “Thank you to Informed Families for a great presentation on the dangers of drinking and driving!!!”
Joel Mesa looks forward to visiting again this fall for Red Ribbon Week.

Prevention education is most powerful when students can see, feel, and talk through real-life choices.
Informed Families recently visited Hialeah Middle School for Safe Homes Smart Parties presentations focused on alcohol and drug prevention, safe decision-making, and helping students better understand how choices can impact their safety, judgment, and future.
Through classroom discussion and hands-on activities, students had the opportunity to engage with prevention in a way that was memorable, relatable, and age-appropriate.
Thank you to Hialeah Middle School for welcoming us and creating space for these important conversations. Together, we can continue helping youth build the knowledge and confidence to make healthy, informed choices.
