Supporting survivors is work we share. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we want to recognize and express our gratitude for the tribal victim service programs serving individuals and families throughout Ottawa, Delaware, and Craig Counties, including:
โข Cherokee Nation ONE FIRE
โข Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma Haven Tribal Advocacy Program
โข Modoc Nation Behavioral Health Domestic Violence Prevention Program
โข Peoria Tribe Health and Human Services Shield Program
โข Quapaw Nation - OGahPah Family Services
โข Sacred Program: Seneca-Cayuga nation
โข Shawnee Tribe Victim Service Program
โข Wyandotte Nation 477 Program Victim Services
Your advocates bring essential expertise, cultural knowledge, and compassion to this work. We appreciate your dedication to helping survivors access safety and support while honoring their identities, choices, and connections to their communities.
We also give a special shoutout to the Native Alliance Against Violence for its important work across Oklahoma- supporting tribal victim service programs, elevating their voices, and raising awareness about the services available to survivors.
In our rural area, working together helps bridge distances, connect resources, and expand the options available to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. These partnerships strengthen our collective ability to respond when someone needs help. To our tribal partners and the Native Alliance Against Violence: thank you for your leadership, collaboration, and commitment to survivors. We are grateful to work alongside you during DVAM and throughout the year. ๐
