Miami-Dade Teen Democrats
We are a group of Teen Democrats from all over Miami-Dade. We work to make our communities a better place, one teen at a time.
Voter turnout in 18 to 29 year-olds jumped from 20 percent in 2014 to 36 percent in 2018: the largest percentage point increase for any age group! Young voters will be pivotal in getting Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell re-elected this November. Whether you're in high school and unable to caste your vote, voting for the first time in this November, or a college student trying to make a big impact on your campus, join Team DMP for its first Virtual Youth Day of Action! You'll be joined by DMP organizers and other youth leaders to discuss our path to victory and role in getting out the youth vote this November. We'll plan and create a strategy together and then hop in to make phone calls to voters. Join Team DMP: you're key to ensuring we win big in Florida 26th Congressional District!

While the Teen Democrats are not endorsing any candidate, the change we as students need does not come from mudslinging, and we hope that campaigns throughout all races focus on the issues and advancement of policies benefitting Miami’s students.

George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and countless others have had their lives cut short at the hands of systemic racism in American policing. This inherent inequity has pervaded our criminal justice system since its founding, and now — through Black-led movements and the support of allies — we are demanding change. The work of growing ourselves and the Miami-Dade community extends beyond social media posts.
As the executive board, we have donated $75 to the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational Fund: an organization centered on ameliorating the criminal justice system and promotions national political participation
The Miami-Dade Teen Democrats is calling upon other caucuses, elected officials, candidates for office (past and present), and anyone who is able to match our donation to one of funds the advancing or aiding affected small businesses here: https://tinyurl.com/ybqlbxtu.
If you are able to donate, tag us in a post once done! We’d love to keep the momentum going. 🤍

Beyond names, the victims of this heinous tragedy were people whose losses have devastated innumerable families and communities. We must honor them through our activism and push for pragmatic policy change. 🧡👼🏽

Yesterday, we were joined by Former State Rep. Asencio and State Senator Jason Pizzo for our first Day of Action. New and veteran members hailed from Miami Edison SHS, Carol City, SHS, American SHS, School for Advanced Studies, Coral Gables SHS, and Miami Arts Studio.
Attention was brought to the difference between representation/advocacy versus action, as well as an in-depth exploration of the state’s criminal justice system and how different communities are disproportionately affected.
With Senator Pizzo, we remembered Gonzalo Vizcardo, his cherished work in Democratic politics, and the need to get him justice.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and if you know a high schooler who’d like to get involved, refer them to our sign-up link:
