Miami-Dade County offices and libraries will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, to remember and honor the men and women who lost their lives in military service to our country.

The Wall of Heroes and Flag Unveiling Ceremony, which is a key feature event of the Miami-Dade 250 initiative, took place today, May 19 at the Stephen P. Clark Center Lobby to honor the service and sacrifice of local U.S. military veterans and services members from all eras.

County office will be closed in observance of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on Friday, May 8, 2026. This annual county holiday was established by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners as an annual holiday to honor local law enforcement.

's EMS Division recently recognized members of their team at Station 14, honoring crews from Engine 14, Rescue 14, Rescue 04, and Engine 62 with the EMS Phoenix Award. This award recognizes firefighters whose actions led to the successful resuscitation of a person in cardiac arrest.
