Our class of 3A has been working on personalizing their restaurant, “La Sirenita”, and giving it an identity. After giving it a name and working on various recipes for a menu they are now working on a logo. These projects expose the children to early literacy and writing skills. They recognize many places through environmental print and they have found the need to give their restaurant a logo so everyone can recognize it. Digital media is an amazing medium that offers a new perspective. In the class of the 3’s the children use a digital microscope to take a closer look at the natural materials in their classroom. They investigate and find new properties of each material. Nature has unique prints, shapes, lines, colors, textures, shades, outlines and stories.
