The Lemon City Branch Library is back – and better than ever! 🎉
Today, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Library Director Lydia Lopez, the office of Commissioner Keon Hardemon, the team and the community celebrated its grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
From new furniture with USB charging ports to a bright, welcoming children’s room and a YOUmedia Miami space featuring 3D printers, a sound recording booth and a green screen, the newly renovated branch is ready to serve as a hub for learning, connection and discovery.

From checking out books and prepping for fun craft programs to getting hands-on with STEAM activities, our young helpers got a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to work at the library – and they had a blast doing it!

We’re turning the page to a new chapter for the Miami Lakes Branch Library!
Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Town of Miami Lakes Mayor Josh Dieguez, Director Lydia Lopez and Vercetti Enterprises President Danial Vercetti officially kicked off the construction for the branch’s renovation and improvement project.
The updated library will be a modern, welcoming space featuring a 5,000 sq. ft. addition, a new children’s room and YOUmedia Miami technology space, study and collaboration rooms and electric vehicle charging stations.
