MISSION
The mission of Veterans Link Up is to build a partnership of military and civilian service providers in Southeast Florida who honor the service of military personnel, veterans, and the sacrifices of their families, by providing comprehensive services to support achievement of their personal and professional goals. t active duty military personnel, veterans, reservists, National Guard members and their families cope with the challenges of deployment, re-entry and readjustment to civilian life after military service. Provide special programming and events to reach out to, and serve, family members whose spouses, children, siblings or parents are currently deployed or returning home from a combat zone for the U.S. Promote greater public awareness and community support for U.S. military personnel and their family members, from all branches of the armed services, who are currently deployed, about to deploy, or are returning home. The Department of Military Families provides activities and support services designed to address the unique personal and transitional challenges encountered by our military families through the various stages of deployment. Our Services Include:
•Peer Outreach and Support
•Information and Referral to Community Resources
•Job readiness/Career assistance
•Individual/Group counseling (adult & adolescent)
•Couples counseling
•Spouse/Family support groups
•Teen support groups and advocacy
•Family recreational activities

Under the SSVF program, Veterans Link Up (VLU) can provide supportive services to very low-income Veteran families living in or transitioning to permanent housing.

We provide eligible Veteran families with outreach, case management, and assistance in obtaining VA and other benefits, which may include:

Health care services

Daily living services

Personal financial planning services

Transportation services

Fiduciary and payee services

Legal services

Child care services

Housing counseling services

In addition, VLU may also provide time-limited payments to third parties (e.g., landlords, utility companies, moving companies, and licensed child care providers) if these payments help Veteran families stay in or acquire permanent housing on a sustainable basis.

Working with VSOs to File a Fully Developed Claim: By filing an FDC, Veterans, Service members and survivors take charge of their claim by providing all the evidence at once. By then certifying that there is no more evidence, VA can issue a decision faster. VA recommends you appoint an accredited Veterans Service Officer to help you initiate your claim, gather the required medical records and evidence, and submit your claim online at eBenefits.va.gov.
