September is Recovery Month!
During this month, spread the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, that prevention works, that treatment is effective and people can and do recover.
Please join communities nationwide to promote this year’s theme, “Join the Voices for Recovery: Speak Up, Reach Out,” which encourages people to openly speak up about mental and substance use disorders and the reality of recovery, and promotes ways individuals can use to recognize behavioral health issues and reach out for help. Don't forget to check out what our youth Youth M.O.V.E. Miami - Through the Arts are doing right here!
National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day is tomorrow! To mark the day, we’ve dedicated our entire quarterly newsletter to the members of Youth M.O.V.E. Miami - Through the Arts. Since the chapter was formed, they have been working tirelessly to spread the word about the challenges youth with mental health issues & substance abuse can face and to lift the stigma surrounding the barriers to recovery. Their dedication and strength is a commendable example for our community.
Please take a moment to read about their accomplishments, and share others!
