Master Sergeant Simon Shalumov, of blessed memory, made Aliyah alone from Kazakhstan through the Na’ale program.
He served as a Lone Soldier in the 202nd Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade.
Simon was killed while fighting Hamas in Gaza.
Please make an effort to attend his funeral to give him respect and to strengthen his family.

If this happens as is suggested here, it will certainly not have been unexpected. Ron Desantis has been a great governor and a skilled policy maker throughout his political career, but he simply overplayed his hand here.
Thoughts on the following are welcomed.
Without speculating too much, I would say that it was a combination of the following:
1) Killing it with his near 20% re-election victory while winning counties that Republicans couldn't even dream about winning;
2) Coming out of his gubenatorial campaign with some $80 million and nothing to do with them (except wait it out a few years)
3) Ego, based on #1 and #2 above
4) Consultants drooling over big $ contracts with all that money in the kitty who kept chirping in the Governor's ear that he can do this, even though the highest probability of success was theirs and not his. (I'm not blaming them, just stating a fact).

If we don't change course, this meme and other charades like it will be our dominant societal dominant norm. And then they* attack.
(*China/Russia/Iran... they're not dumb, and China in particular is carefully watching our leadership's pathetic weakness and degradation of military readiness, while taking pre-emptive aggressive territorial and strategic steps every day around the world.)
It's only a matter of time... if we don't change course direction and start by electing President again.
