Miami, it’s officially giving season and OCYC is locked in. 💛 This is your chance to turn your dollars into impact and help us create a wave of change for Overtown’s children and youth.

This year, we have five powerful days to rally support: Early Giving opens November 15th , and on Thursday, November 20th, we go all in for 24 hours of giving. Every donation fuels programs that uplift, empower, and transform lives right here in our community. 🌱✨

And to kick things off, we’re joining The brand-new activation, the Give Miami 5K: Miles That Matter on November 16th, where you can select as your nonprofit of choice and have your race fee go directly toward our mission. 🏃🏾‍♀️

Conversation Wednesday returns this week, bringing Overtown’s residents, partners, and leaders together for another evening of powerful dialogue and collective action.

After an incredible launch last month, we’re coming back to the table to keep the momentum going. This next strategy session will continue the conversation on how to empower families, nurture a love of reading, and create a community-wide culture where every child is set up to succeed.

Whether you joined us for the first session or you’re stepping in for the very first time, your voice matters. Together, we can build a future where literacy is the key that unlocks opportunity for every child in Overtown.

This Wednesday, we launch Overtown Reads, a community-wide effort to build a culture of reading that starts from birth and lasts a lifetime.

This first strategy session will bring together community leaders, partners, and parents to align on powerful ways to:

✔️ Empower families with tools for early literacy
✔️ Spark a love of reading from the very beginning
✔️ Give our youngest learners every opportunity to thrive

Because Overtown’s children deserve access, opportunity, and a future built on knowledge. Together, we can reverse the trend of low literacy and create lasting change.
