⭐️ What To Expect During Your Notary Appointment ⭐️

1. The Signer(s) must be physically present, as the Notary must witness the signing of the document.

2. Have knowledge of what kind of notarization you will need (acknowledgment / jurat) in the event that the document is missing the notarial certificate (wording). The Notary is prohibited from deciding or giving legal advice. If you are not sure, please contact the document’s issuing agency or an attorney.

3. The Notary will examine the document for completion, as there should not be any blank spaces. If the blanks cannot be filled in, you must write N/A or equivalent.

4. The Notary will identify the signer and the witnesses (if applicable) and match the name to the document. Be sure to have a valid government issued photo ID (if expired, must be less than 5 years).

5. The Notary will record the Notarial Act in her Journal. This includes the type of document, signer’s name, address, type of identification, signature and fingerprint.

6. The Notary will perform the Notarial Act and ensure that the signer understands the contents of the document and willingly sign it. If it’s a Jurat, the Notary will administer an oath or affirmation that the contents of the document are true.

7. Finally, the Notary will complete the Notarial Certificate. 📝 ✅
