CBP works hand in hand with our partners to protect America. Recently, Port Everglades CBP officers conducted a joint operation with Hollywood Police Department's Marine Unit and the U.S. Coast Guard to inspect 15 vessels on the local waterways.

When people split up currency amongst themselves to avoid reporting to CBP, that is Structuring. Two men traveling through Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport learned this the hard way when CBP officers discovered their evasion scheme, splitting up $19,484 between the two of them. Currency was seized.

Port Tampa Bay CBP officers seized a forklift bound for Costa Rica after discovered an altered bill of sale that drastically undervalued the export. Documents claimed the forklift was worth just $200--its actual value exceeded $6000. Trade fraud doesn't lift off on our watch.

Recently, CBP officers at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport seized multiple mislabeled prescription bottles containing white unmarked pills. Hydrocodone pills were seized. Bringing pills into the US? Get a prescription. go.dhs.gov/3Sc

It was an unplanned excursion for a US citizen with a warrant for obstructing the police. She was apprehended at PortMiami by CBP officers upon disembarkation and transferred to Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office.

An exporter tried to 'cherry pick' which information to share when attempting to export this vehicle to Costa Rica. Port Tampa Bay CBP officers discovered several incorrect or suspiciously omitted pieces of information were missing, including the use of a fraudulent title. The vehicle was seized.

Turns out this cruise passenger's final destination was custody. PortMiami CBP officers arrested a man leaving a cruise ship and transferred him to Miami-Dade Sherriff's Office when they discovered he had an active warrant for burglary. Cruise mode: deactivated.
