With support from The Barnacle Society, The Barnacle Historic State Park provides the perfect place to enjoy simple pleasures: small celebrations, picnics, outdoor movies and concerts under the moonlight. Commodore Ralph Middleton Munroe's 1891 home "The Barnacle" is the oldest house in Miami-Dade County still standing in its original, bayside location. Built five years before Miami became a city, The Barnacle is a charming piece of Old Florida in the heart of the Coconut Grove community. This page is maintained by the Barnacle Society, Inc., a volunteer nonprofit, citizen-support organization created to generate public awareness, education, and financial support for the preservation and maintenance of The Barnacle Historic State Park.
