The Challenge begins in just two weeks!
Through stories, articles, and advocates’ voices, we’re reminded that barriers to voting are not just about laws on paper; they’re about access to transportation, privacy, stability, safety, and support.
Learn about how the past is impacting our present and how we can apply those lessons as we push to protect voting rights!

A child’s environment plays a powerful role in shaping their mental health and well-being 💙
That’s why safe, supportive spaces matter. Through our Pre-K and afterschool programs, we are committed to creating nurturing environments where children can learn, grow, build confidence, and feel supported every day 🌱
Together, we can help children build a strong foundation for a healthier future.

This year, South Florida’s primary and midterm elections carry real weight for our communities. At a time when access to the ballot, local decision-making, and civic participation are closely tied to everyday issues like health, housing, education, and safety, understanding our voting rights and how to use them matters more than ever.
This year’s Challenge looks a little different.
Instead of a new theme each week, we’re going deeper into one topic — Voting Rights!
New format. Local voices. Real tools for civic engagement.
The right to vote was hard-won. This June, learn what it took to get here and why protecting it still matters. Join the challenge at the link in our bio!

Yesterday we welcomed the Miami-Dade Q3 Tech Advisory Council Meeting to our newly renovated Youth Clubhouse at YWCA South Florida’s headquarters in Overtown.
It was amazing to bring together leaders from across Miami’s tech and business community for conversations around innovation, workforce development, and creating opportunities for the next generation.
We were proud to showcase the work happening inside our Youth Clubhouse and how YWCA South Florida is helping young people explore technology, creativity, and future career pathways.
Thank you to the Miami-Dade Beacon Council and everyone who joined us. We’re excited for the connections and partnerships ahead 🤝

Instead of a new theme each week, we’re going deeper into one topic — Voting Rights — giving us space to learn, reflect, and take meaningful action around a single issue that impacts everything else

We spent the week celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week across YWCA South Florida, and on Friday, we concluded the celebration with a special tea party for the incredible teachers at our Gerry Sweet Center. 📚
Our teachers do so much more than teach. They encourage, inspire, and help shape the future of our children and families every single day.
To our amazing educators across all YWCA South Florida centers, thank you for your dedication, compassion, and the difference you make in our community. We are so grateful for you. 🧡
