❤️SWEET - OVERLOOKED DOG 🚨Miami Fl 🚨11/18 - needs rescue help asap
Cookie is a 50 pound dog in the body of a small dog. She is sweet and is being overlooked, she is a black dog and may be unapealing to some but for us she is the doggie lottery.
Sweet, calm and lifts her paw in a greating motion when she sees people walking by. She has not been adopted, even after being featured in the lobby. She is waiting and waiting and happy to see all the puppies and highly adoptables being adopted or rescued but wishes she was rescued or adopted too.

Two Years of Freedom: A New Era for Miami's Dogs
This October marks a special anniversary for animal lovers across Miami-Dade. It’s been two years since the discriminatory, 34-year-old ban on "pit bull" type dogs officially ended, and we’re taking a moment this Pit Bull Awareness Month to celebrate how far we’ve come and look at the work still ahead.
Remembering the Fight
For over three decades, a dark cloud hung over our county. The pit bull ban wasn't just a law; it was a policy that tore families apart. It forced loving owners to choose between their homes and their four-legged family members. It led to the needless deaths of countless wonderful, adoptable dogs in our local shelters, judged not by their behavior but by their appearance.
The Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation (MCABSL) fought tirelessly alongside community members, advocates, and responsible dog owners to show the world that this law was not only cruel but completely ineffective at making our communities safer. We argued a simple truth: public safety comes from responsible ownership, not from banning a specific look.
Victory and a New Beginning
In October 2023, that fight paid off. A new state law meant the end of Miami-Dade's ban. This wasn't just a victory for "pit bulls," but for every dog and dog owner. It was a victory for common sense and compassion.
Now, our work has shifted. The battleground is no longer the courtroom; it's our community. Our mission is to replace lingering fear with facts, and prejudice with understanding.
What Does a Safer, More Humane Miami Look Like?
The end of the ban doesn’t mean the work is over. It means we can now focus on the things that actually make our communities safer for people and pets alike. Here’s what we’re championing:
▪︎ Judge the Deed, Not the Breed: We must hold reckless owners accountable for their dogs' actions, no matter what breed their dog is. A well-behaved dog is a credit to its owner, and a poorly-behaved one is a responsibility.
▪︎ Promote Responsible Ownership: Every dog deserves a responsible owner. That means providing proper training, socialization from a young age, spaying or neutering your pet, and always ensuring they are safely and securely contained.
▪︎ Support Our Local Shelters: Miami-Dade Animal Services, Broward County Animal Care, and Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control and our incredible local rescues are now free to place these amazing dogs in loving homes within our county. When you adopt, you don't just save one life; you open up a kennel space for another animal in need and become a living ambassador for these misunderstood dogs.
How You Can Join the Movement
This new era needs you. We need to show our community the truth about these goofy, loyal, and loving dogs.
▪︎ Educate: Gently correct misinformation when you hear it. Share positive stories.
▪︎ Advocate: Be a voice for responsible, breed-neutral laws in all aspects of life, from housing to public spaces.
▪︎ Adopt or Foster: Ready to add to your family? Consider a blocky-headed friend from a local shelter. They've been waiting for a home like yours.
We've closed a painful chapter in Miami-Dade's history. Now, let's write the next one together—one filled with compassion, responsibility, and happy endings for all of Miami's dogs.

Update September 2025 !!
Aubreys days are coming to an end …
My name is Aubrey… and I’ve been sitting in this shelter since November 16, 2024. Miami-Dade Animal Services
Day after day, I wait. I watch families walk by. I watch other dogs leave & others die . And I am still here .
I’ve survived over a year here. That’s almost impossible in a place like this. But somehow… I kept holding on, hoping my turn would come.
But now… they say my time is up.
The truth? No one wants me. No one chose me. And now they need my space for another dog since I been here longer then most before they are euthanized for space.
I’m trying to be brave, but I feel invisible. Forgotten. Like my life doesn’t matter.
I don’t need much—just a safe spot, a soft bed, a person to call my own. I promise I’ll give every ounce of love in me if someone would just give me a chance.
Please… don’t let me leave this world never knowing what it feels like to be loved.
Love,
💔 Aubrey

9/17 SCARED GIRL IN DANGER OF EUTHANASIA
💉💉💉💉💉THEY ARE COMING FOR ME 💔💔
RGENT: Nala’s Life Is in Danger. She’s a Terrified Dog at a Breaking Point.
Meet Nala, a medium-sized Shepherd mix whose spirit is being shattered by her profound fear. Found in a cage and now confined to a shelter, her behavior has deteriorated rapidly, and she is in urgent need of a lifeline.
Nala is in a state of extreme fear and stress, with an FAS score of 5. She is so terrified that she will not walk on a leash, pressing herself against walls, attempting to flee, and avoiding all eye contact. In a heartbreaking display of her desperation, she is biting her leash to the point where her mouth is bleeding. She flinches and snaps when touched—not out of aggression, but out of absolute terror.
Nala’s quality of life is very poor, and her prognosis is grim without immediate intervention. She cannot be moved on a cart and cannot cope with the shelter environment for another day. She needs an immediate pathway to a peaceful home to prevent further suffering.
This brave girl is in desperate need of a compassionate hero who can see past her fear and give her the time, space, and safety she needs to finally decompress and heal.
Please, don’t let this terrified girl’s story end in a kennel. Her life depends on an immediate rescue.
Because of her level of fear Nala is on a critical pathway and a candidate for euthanasia if not rescued

WHY TAKE HIS BONE ???????
Just waiting to 💉💉
Miami FL 🚨VERY URGENT 🚨In danger of euthanasia for resource guarding a bone.
HE IS AN amazing boy 🚨MIAMI FL- 😢 This poor boy, , was returned from Petco with a bite report and is now quarantined 😔. He was trying to protect his bone when an employee attempted to take it away, leading to resource guarding. He’s 2 years old and while in Doral he display perfect behavior. Volunteer favorite.
He is gentle but indifferent towards humans. This pup need a home where he would
Be loved and given the attention he so well deserved. What happened at Petco was in isolated incident.. he s locked in a cage with no outlet for decompression and holding on to the only familiar and emotional connection he has (a toy). . His reaction in this incident is quite normal considering all the circumstances.
