PUBLIC SAFETY TAX (or Bond?): Commissioners are likely to approve asking taxpayers to borrow $450 million via a "Public Safety Bond". Who benefits besides police, firefighters, and first responders? Once this is put on the ballot, the feeding frenzy begins. Architects. Engineering firms. Consultants. Construction companies Lobbyists. Bond lawyers. Political vendors. Everybody in Miami’s professional influence ecosystem will suddenly develop a deep passion for “public safety infrastructure.”

FROM WHOM IS VICKI LOPEZ RAISING MONEY? Tricky Vicki leaned heavily on real estate contributions last quarter. A quarter the donations she received came from developers, property managers, and other industry interests. Wonder who will benefit more if she were elected?
