Today we recognized years of service to Johnston County Public Schools. We celebrate more than the number of years someone has worked. We celebrate the lives touched, the relationships built, the challenges overcome, and the countless moments when our educators made a difference for a child.
Education is more than a job. It is a calling. It is choosing to show up on the hard days, to believe in a child who may not yet believe in themselves, to celebrate the small victories that others may never see, and to keep going when the work feels overwhelming.
At Micro Elementary, we believe we are a small school where BIG things happen. They happen because we choose to work together, extend grace, build relationships, and keep students at the center of every decision.
Whether this is your first year in JCPS or your thirtieth, your service matters. Your presence matters. And the work you do every day matters.
Thank you for choosing education, for choosing JCPS, and for choosing to make a difference in the lives of children. May we never become so busy doing the work that we forget the purpose behind it.
The years we serve are important, but the lives we impact are our true legacy.
Thank you, and congratulations to all of our Micro honorees and to all of the JCPS service honorees around the county!
