The Division for Land Grant Engagement has launched the 2026 statewide needs assessment survey to better understand the issues and priorities that matter most to West Virginians.
The findings from this assessment will help:
•Identify priorities for WVU Extension and Davis College programs
•Guide future research, education, and outreach efforts
•Ensure resources are focused where they can make the greatest impact

Attention Produce Growers!

Learn more about produce safety and meeting buyers' expectations. This covers FSMA requirements and GAPs recommendations and information about developing a food safety plan and GAP certification. Trainings will be in-person and remote. Don't miss this opportunity!

Remote Produce Safety Grower Training will be held on October 6, 2026 and March 2, 2027. In person Produce Safety Grower Training is to be determined at the West Virginia Small Farms Conference.

Remote training for Writing Your Farm Food Safety Plan will be on November 17, 2026. In person training Writing Your Farm Food Safety Plan will be on March 30, 2027 at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Bridgeport, West Virginia. The address is 20 Sweetbrier Lane, Bridgeport, WV 26330.

The class will be held October 17, 202 from noon to 4pm at the Tyler County 4-H Camp, 88 4-H Drive in Middlebourne.

Job Opening: Tyler County Program Coordinator

This position will be housed at the WVU Tyler County Extension Office located in Middlebourne WV. It is a full-time position, Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm with occasional evening and weekend hours required. This position will require teaching both youth and adult audiences and providing programming and educational activities within the county. Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years post-secondary education with experience in youth or family programming. WVU Youth Protection trainings and a background check are required. Health insurance and retirement benefits are available. Salary to be determined.
