Our units have returned to service from assisting Bailey Fire Department with a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of US 264A and Stone Heritage Road.

The roadway will remain closed for an extended amount of time as the North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigates the accident. Please avoid the area if at all possible.

Other agencies on scene include Nash County EMS, Nash County Sheriff's Office, Middlesex Police Department, and Bailey Police Department.

Last night some of our members had the opportunity to participate in live fire evolutions during an acquired structure burn in Ferrels. Training like this gives our firefighters valuable hands-on experience in realistic fire conditions while working alongside members from surrounding departments.

A big thank you to Ferrells Volunteer Fire & Rescue for hosting the drill and allowing us to be a part of it. The training brought together firefighters representing departments from Nash, Franklin, and Wake Counties. We’re always thankful for opportunities to train together, learn from one another, and strengthen the relationships between our neighboring departments.

Last night, we had the opportunity to link up with Pilot Fire Department and spend some time going over the basic operations and capabilities of Ladder 5.

We appreciate their hospitality and the invitation to come out and train together. It’s always a good time working alongside our neighboring departments, sharing knowledge, and getting familiar with each other’s equipment!

This morning some of our members met up with members of Zebulon Fire Department for some joint apparatus familiarization. Crews took time to go over each department’s equipment, apparatus capabilities, and how everything is set up.

Training like this helps us become more familiar with the resources available when we’re working together on an incident. We appreciate Zebulon Fire Department for taking the time to meet up with us and we look forward to more opportunities to train together!

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that changed our nation forever.

We remember the innocent lives that were taken, the families who lost loved ones, and the countless people who were forever changed by the events of that day.

Most importantly, we remember those who ran toward danger while others were running away. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens showed extraordinary courage and selflessness. Many made the ultimate sacrifice so that others could live.

Their courage reminds us that service is more than a job—it is a commitment to protect, to help, and to stand together when our communities need us most.

May we never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the heroes who answered the call.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
