As the leaves change and crisp fall air settles in, our drives around town get a lot more scenic! But autumn also brings unique road conditions—from sun glare and slick fallen leaves to darker evening commutes and increased neighborhood activity.

🎃 Watch for Little Goblins & Walking Groups - Fading daylight coincides right with school dismissal and evening walks. Slow down in residential areas, near parks, and around school zones, and keep an extra eye out for pedestrians and cyclists.
🍂 Treat Wet Leaves Like Ice-A Road covered in damp or wet leaves can be as slippery as a patch of ice. Slow down on leafy turns and give yourself extra stopping distance when approaching intersections.
☀️ Tackle the Seasonal Sun Glare The autumn sun sits lower on the horizon, creating severe morning and late-afternoon glare. Ensure your windshield is clean inside and out to minimize reflection.
🦌 Stay Alert for Wildlife Activity - Fall is peak migration and mating season for deer, making them far more active near roadways—especially around dawn and dusk. Scan the roadside shoulders and remember: if you see one deer, others are usually close behind.
🌧️ Check Your Wipers & Tire Pressure Cooler fall temperatures cause tire pressure to drop, and autumn rains require sharp visibility. Take five minutes this week to check your tire inflation and swap out worn windshield wiper blades.
Let’s keep our roads safe for everyone this season.

A heartfelt thank you to our residents, police officers, and all first responders who supported this weekend’s events honoring the 25th Anniversary of September 11th.
The Township's annual Memorial Service remains a solemn vow to honor the memory of the 37 residents we lost on that tragic day and to stand steadfast alongside their families.
We are deeply grateful to PBA Local 124 for hosting Saturday’s annual 5K Run in honor of our fallen residents and Detective Lieutenant Joseph Capriotti, who passed away from cancer resulting from his service at Ground Zero.
Thank you also to the first responders and Township Committee Members who took part in Sunday’s stair climb at the Life Time fitness center, representing the 110 floors the firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical personnel climbed to save others.
The unwavering service, dedication, and remembrance reflect the true strength, resilience, and unity of our community. We will never forget.
