As a result of this event, the following roadways may experience increased traffic throughout the day: Route 211, East Main Street, Carpenter Avenue, Wisner Avenue, Schutt Road We ask residents and businesses to plan accordingly and anticipate the possibility of increased traffic in and around the Orange County Fair Speedway area throughout much of the day today.

Good evening, Town of Wallkill Residents and Businesses,

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Orange County Fair Speedway will be hosting the Diesels of New York Truck Event on its property located on Carpenter Avenue.

As a result of this event, the following roadways may experience increased traffic throughout the day:

Route 211,
East Main Street,
Carpenter Avenue,
Wisner Avenue,
Schutt Road

We ask residents and businesses to plan accordingly and anticipate the possibility of increased traffic in and around the Orange County Fair Speedway area throughout much of the day on Saturday.

Additionally, Saturday, October 31, is Halloween. We remind everyone to use extra caution when driving through residential neighborhoods, as children and families will be out trick-or-treating. Please remain alert, reduce your speed, and watch for pedestrians throughout the evening.

During flushing water may become discolored, however it is safe to drink. Also businesses with private hydrants may take this opportunity to flush and service any private hydrants on their property. National Drug Take Back Day 💊

The Town of Wallkill Police Department will be hosting a Drug Take Back event on Saturday, October 24th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stop by the Town of Wallkill Police Department at 99 Tower Drive to safely dispose of any expired or unused medications.

Safe disposal helps keep unwanted medications out of the wrong hands and protects our community.

Members of the Town of Wallkill Police Department proudly participated in yesterday’s Tunnel to Towers 5K honoring our fallen first responders, and all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Good evening, Town of Wallkill residents and businesses. A strong Nor'easter will affect out weather through Monday bring with it:
Showers and periods of steadier rain begin to arrive after Midnight tonight and continue into Saturday, though some decrease coverage is possible in the morning. Wind gusts will also be on the increase tonight, peaking toward 45 mph during the day and staying elevated even into Saturday night before lessening some on Sunday. With the prolonged nature of these winds combined with still fully leafed trees, some limbs or weaker trees can come down, and some isolated power outages are possible as well. Waves of showers and some steadier periods of rain continue Saturday night, and into Sunday, and while a gradual up to 2 inches of rain likely won't be too much of an issue with regards to flooding, some nuisance roadway ponding is possible, particularly near any leaf-clogged drains and in any locally heavier rain. Conditions gradually improve into Sunday night, though some showers can be leftover still into Monday. Please take the necessary steps to be prepared for possible power outages that could be caused by the winds associated with this weather system.

Una fuerte tormenta del noreste afectará nuestro clima hasta el lunes, trayendo consigo: chubascos y periodos de lluvia más constante comenzarán después de la medianoche y continuarán hasta el sábado, aunque es posible que disminuya la cantidad de lluvia por la mañana. Las ráfagas de viento también aumentarán esta noche, alcanzando un máximo de 72 km/h durante el día y manteniéndose elevadas incluso hasta la noche del sábado, antes de disminuir el domingo. Debido a la persistencia de estos vientos y a que los árboles aún conservan su follaje, algunas ramas o árboles más débiles podrían caerse, y también son posibles algunos cortes de energía aislados. Las oleadas de chubascos y algunos periodos de lluvia más constante continuarán la noche del sábado y el domingo, y si bien una precipitación gradual de hasta 5 cm probablemente no represente un gran problema en cuanto a inundaciones, es posible que se formen charcos en las carreteras, particularmente cerca de desagües obstruidos por hojas y en caso de lluvias localmente más intensas. Las condiciones mejorarán gradualmente durante la noche del domingo, aunque podrían persistir algunos chubascos hasta el lunes. Por favor, tome las medidas necesarias para estar preparado ante posibles cortes de energía que podrían ser causados por los vientos asociados a este sistema meteorológico.
