The Simplar Foundation’s recently released study, Multiskilling in the U.S. Construction Industry, is the largest national dataset documenting the relationship between multiskilling labor strategies and performance outcomes.

Multiskilling is the model of training used by merit shop contractors that upskills craft professionals to obtain credentials that allow them to perform multiple tasks or trades, increasing their versatility, productivity and value on the jobsite.

The study found that multiskilling enables crews to cover substantially more project work.
