The Anchor Home provides women of Ellis County who are facing homelessness with an immediate and safe place to stay while they move along a path to self-sufficiency. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and passionate team deeply devoted to caring for women in crisis.

Today, we had the privilege of attending the Be Determined Luncheon, benefiting The Heights - Ellis County Family Resources. 🐝💛

The mission behind The Heights is so much bigger than providing a safe place for victims of domestic violence…breaking the cycle of generational violence and creating a different future for families.

The vision is to bring vital resources together in one place, including emergency shelter, law enforcement support, court assistance, counseling, children’s camps, and services that help victims and their families find safety, healing, and a path forward.

Because ending domestic violence isn’t just about helping someone escape their current circumstances. It’s about giving families the tools, support, and hope to ensure the cycle doesn’t continue into the next generation.

At The Anchor Home, we are proud to support The Heights and grateful to be a partner in a mission that means so much to our Ellis County community.

When organizations come together, we can do more than help families survive. We can help change the future for generations to come. ❤️

Today, we’re not simply asking you to make a donation. We’re asking you to help give a woman and her children a place to begin again.

For a woman facing homelessness or crisis, one safe place can change the direction of her entire family.

A place to sleep without fear.
A way to get to work.
Groceries when the cabinets are empty.
Help finding permanent housing.
Resources to rebuild.
And people who believe that her circumstances do not have to define her future.

That is what The Anchor Home exists to provide.

And we know it works.

💙 70% of families transition to permanent housing within 9 months.
💙 60% of residents gain employment or enter job training.
💙 95% of children maintain school attendance.

A fresh start can mean waking up somewhere safe.
Knowing your children have a roof over their heads.
Having someone in your corner.
And finally being able to think about what comes next instead of just surviving today.

That is what we want every woman who comes through The Anchor Home to experience.

The Anchor Home is more than a place to stay. It is a home that needs to be maintained and a support system that helps women and children take the next steps toward stability.

Two of our current needs are important repairs to The Anchor Home and a reliable vehicle to help us continue serving the women and children who depend on our ministry.

Transportation is a significant part of what we do—from helping women get to work and school to medical appointments, grocery stores and housing resources. In 2025 alone, 25 women received transportation assistance through The Anchor Home.

💙 THIS is what your support makes possible.

Behind every number is a woman or child who needed somewhere safe to land, someone to help, or simply a little hope during a difficult season.

In 2025, The Anchor Home:
• Provided housing at The Anchor Home for 18 women and 10 children
• Helped 22 women & children with emergency hotel stays
• Provided groceries to 50 women & children
• Assisted 30 women with fuel
• Helped 20 women & children with permanent housing through referrals, moving assistance and furnishings
• Coordinated health, workforce and family-reunification resources for 58 women & children

And the impact continues: 70% of families transition to permanent housing within 9 months, 60% of residents gain employment or enter job training, and 95% of children maintain school attendance.

These aren't just statistics. They represent fresh starts, stability and families moving forward. ⚓️
