Math was GLOWING in Ms. Lorenz’s 3rd grade classroom!

These mathematicians took their learning to the next level with a glow-in-the-dark math party! With black lights, highlighters, glow sticks, and plenty of glowing fun, students worked their way through all their math stations in a whole new light.

This special celebration was earned! As part of the PTA’s Raise Craze fundraiser, the class set a goal and worked together to meet it. Now, it was time to celebrate their hard work and let their success shine!

We’re so proud of these students for setting a goal, working together, and making it happen. They really made math GLOW!

Our 2nd graders in Ms. Rotchford’s art class are exploring the landmarks that make our town special! Students are starting by sketching their designs and outlining them in Sharpie before bringing their artwork to life with watercolor. We can’t wait to see their finished masterpieces!

Ms. Koehne’s 3rd grade class and Ms. Kerr’s kindergarten class spent time together today as class buddies! Our students enjoyed getting to know one another, learning about each other’s classrooms, and building new friendships. Some of our kindergarteners even took the 3rd graders on a tour of their classroom! They also spent time reading together, sharing the joy of learning across grade levels.

We love seeing our Cubs connect, learn from one another, and build a strong sense of community!

Ms. Karst’s class took on The Great Rain Drain Challenge! Our students stepped into the role of engineers and were challenged to design and build a rainwater collection system that could collect, channel, transport, and store water for plants.

With a limited set of materials and specific design constraints, students had to think creatively, collaborate with their teams, test their ideas, and problem-solve along the way.

We love seeing our Cubs put their engineering skills to work through hands-on learning! Great job, Ms. Karst’s class!

There was a whole lot of JOY this week at CHES! 💛

Inspired by John Schu’s Lily-May’s Joyful Day, Mrs. Petty and Mrs. Lattimer’s buddy classes headed outside for a “joy walk” around our campus. Buddies slowed down, took in the world around them, and noticed the little things that brought them joy. ☀️🌳

They ended their walk gathered in a circle, reflecting and sharing the joy they found along the way.
What a beautiful way to spend an afternoon together! 💛

Today was a BIG day for our newest Cubs! Our kindergarteners found out which house they’ll be part of for the next six years!

We went class by class, and each kindergartener got sorted with a POP! They joined their new housemates while some of our amazing older Cubs cheered them on and welcomed them to their house family!

After everyone was sorted, our kindergarteners headed back to their classrooms with their new housemates to learn all about what makes their house special… and, of course, start building those house connections!

A HUGE thank you to our incredible kindergarten team for putting together such a fun and memorable experience for our newest Cubs!

Thank you to our older students for being such enthusiastic house leaders and helping welcome your new K housemates! And thank you to all of our families who came out to cheer on our kiddos as they discovered the house they’ll call home for the next six years!
