Congratulations FF/Paramedic Garrett Southard. We are very proud of the hard work you put into passing your FTEP!

Thank you to our teams of FTOs and staff who had a hand in helping Garrett get through this process!

🚑 Paramedic Advancement Announcement 🚑

Today, we had the opportunity to complete the final evaluation of Paramedic Garrett Southard as he concluded his onboarding and field training process with Midlothian Fire & EMS.

Garrett had already completed his written protocol examination with an outstanding score of 100%. Today, he completed the final phase of his training, which included clinical scenarios and procedure skills testing—and I’m proud to say that he performed exceptionally well.

As of today, Garrett has officially completed his training phase and joins the ranks of Midlothian’s professional firefighter/paramedics. These are some of the finest prehospital professionals in our area, and I’m proud to welcome Garrett to the team.

Under the leadership and guidance of Chief McPherson, Captain Feldpausch, and Medical Director Dr. Trivedi, Garrett will continue to build on the knowledge and skills he has developed throughout his training.

A special congratulations and thank-you to his two Field Training Officers, Paramedic Gabe Stewart and Paramedic Clinton Kierych, who invested significant time and effort mentoring Garrett and helping to prepare him for this next step in his career. Their commitment to developing the next generation of paramedics is an important part of what makes our organization strong.

Midlothian Fire & EMS is committed to providing expert, compassionate, and professional prehospital care to the citizens we serve. Today, we add another outstanding professional to that mission.

Congratulations, Garrett! Well earned and well deserved. We’re proud to have you on the team! 👏🚑

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, Midlothian Fire Department Engineer Britt Stinson and Battalion Chief Jon Marek participated in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each climbed in remembrance of a fallen firefighter, carrying their photo and memory through every step.

Events like this are a reminder that even 25 years later, the fire service continues to honor those who answered the call that morning and never came home.

We climb because they climbed.

343. Never Forgotten.
