The calls may slow down, the radios may get quiet, and the scene may be calm — but the work never truly stops.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE- Salt Creek Emergency Services- October 9, 2026

This afternoon, Salt Creek Emergency Services responded to a wildfire in Edgerton, Wyoming.

Firefighters arrived on scene quickly and worked efficiently to extinguish the fire. Through the prompt response of emergency personnel, strong teamwork, and tremendous community efforts, the incident was brought under control with no reported loss of life or structures.

The cause of ignition remains unknown at this time. Further information will be shared if it becomes available.

Salt Creek Emergency Services would like to thank all personnel and community members who contributed to the response and helped protect our community. Incidents like this demonstrate the importance of teamwork, preparedness, and neighbors looking out for one another.

We are proud to serve the communities of Midwest and Edgerton and remain committed to protecting the lives and property of those we serve.

What an exciting Friday night for your Salt Creek Emergency Services, we teamed up with the Platte Bridge Company to fire the cannon off for the Varsity Midwest Oilers!!!

Although we are missing a few (not pictured A. Clymer, C. Clymer, B. Nelson, Ch. Clymer, D. Steinberg, T. Garcia) We showed up in pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pictured are SCES and Platte Bridge Company at the game.

Unfortunately, immediately following the game we were paged to a vehicle fire on Highway 259. The fire was safely extinguished with no injuries. Thank you to our mutual aide agencies; Wyoming Highway Patrol, Natrona County Fire District, and Natrona County Sheriff's Department for your quick response and assistance.

🚒 MUTUAL AID RESPONSE — PUGSLEY FIRE 🚒

Yesterday, Salt Creek Emergency Services Engine 16 and Tender 16 were called to assist our neighbors with the Pugsley Fire.

The fire was burning predominantly through heavy pine timber, creating challenging conditions for crews on the ground. SCES personnel worked alongside the Wyoming State Forestry Division helicopter and other units, supporting ground operations as the helicopter made water drops on the fire.

Once again, it was a great afternoon and evening of teamwork, coordination, and dedication between agencies. Crews worked together to get the fire under control and bring the incident to a successful conclusion.

We are proud of our members who answered the call and represented Salt Creek Emergency Services alongside our partners. This is what mutual aid is all about — neighbors helping neighbors and working together to protect our communities.

Thank you to all of the agencies and personnel who worked together on the Pugsley Fire. 💪🔥

🚨 MEDICAL MONDAY: HUNTER DOWN IN THE FIELD 🦌🏹

Hunting often takes us far from roads, cell service, and quick access to medical help. If someone in your hunting party suddenly goes down, knowing what to do can make all the difference.

🩺 FIRST — MAKE SURE THE AREA IS SAFE
Before rushing in, make sure there are no fi***rm hazards, unstable terrain, or other dangers.

📞 CALL 911
Even if you aren’t sure how serious the situation is, call for help. Put your phone on speaker so you can keep your hands free.

❤️ CHECK RESPONSIVENESS & BREATHING

* Are they awake and responding?
* Are they breathing normally?
* If they aren’t breathing normally, begin CPR and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.

🩸 LOOK FOR LIFE-THREATENING BLEEDING
A hunting accident can involve serious bleeding. Apply firm, direct pressure to severe bleeding. If you have a tourniquet and know how to use it, apply it for life-threatening bleeding from an arm or leg.

🧊 KEEP THEM WARM
If they’re unconscious, injured, or in shock, protect them from the elements. Use coats, blankets, or other gear to keep them warm.

📍 KNOW YOUR LOCATION
When calling 911, be prepared to provide your GPS coordinates, hunting area, nearest road, trail, landmark, or access point. Don’t leave the patient alone unless absolutely necessary.

🚙 DON’T MOVE THEM UNLESS NECESSARY
If you suspect a head, neck, or back injury, avoid moving them unless staying where they are creates an immediate danger.

🔦 HELP RESPONDERS FIND YOU
Use a flashlight, vehicle lights, GPS location, whistle, or other signals to make your location easier to identify.

Most importantly: STAY CALM. Give the dispatcher as much information as possible and follow their instructions until help arrives.

🦌 A few minutes of preparation before heading into the field could make a huge difference when something goes wrong.

Hunt smart. Hunt safe. Have a plan.

PRESS RELEASE

Tea Pot Fire – Natrona County, Wyoming

Salt Creek Emergency Services responded alongside mutual aid agencies to the Tea Pot Fire, located near I-25 & US 87 at Milepost 214 in Natrona County on 12 September 2026.

The fire burned approximately 4.94 acres and has been 100% contained.

Crews worked together as a team to quickly gain control of the wildfire and prevent further spread. We appreciate the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies and personnel who worked together to make quick work of this incident.

The Tea Pot Fire is now inactive.
