4-H, a University of Missouri program, promotes youth development through hands-on learning, building confidence and expanding knowledge to help young individuals grow and thrive. 4-H is young people preparing to be future leaders. 4-h'ers attend camps, display their work at fairs, travel, attend meetings and events with other young people, and much more.

Exciting news for Sullivan County 4-H!

We are excited to introduce the NEW Sullivan County 4-H Ambassador Program!

This program is a great opportunity for youth to get more involved, build leadership skills, and represent 4-H throughout our community! Ambassadors will have the chance to assist with events, meet new people, and help promote all the great opportunities 4-H has to offer.

We are looking for youth to serve in two ambassador roles:

- Junior Ambassadors: Ages 13 and under
- Senior Ambassadors: Ages 14 and older

Ambassadors will serve a one-year term, giving them the opportunity to grow as leaders, gain valuable experiences, and make a positive impact on Sullivan County 4-H!

Are you ready to take on a new leadership opportunity? We would love to have you involved!

We’re continuing our club spotlights with Green Hills 4-H!

Led by Kirsten Tharp, Green Hills 4-H meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Milan Community Center.

Members stay busy with a variety of projects, including arts and crafts, archery, cowboy action shooting, poultry, and rabbits. They also enjoy giving back to their community through Red Cross blood drives, Feeding Missouri food drives, maintaining a flower bed at the fairgrounds, donating stuffed animals to children in need, and placing American flags on veterans’ graves.

“I am glad that I joined 4-H a couple of years ago because it has allowed me to connect with others who have similar interests as me, especially when it comes to my projects, poultry and rabbits.” — America

“We have meetings every 2nd Wednesday of every month. We do fun things including parties for Valentines and Christmas. We also do arts and crafts.” — Harper

Registration is now open for the 2026 Northeast Region Roundup! Don't miss out on the opportunity to jumpstart your 4-H year with this chance to connect with others, discover what 4-H has to offer, develop new knowledge and skills, and make a difference!

Registration is open October 9-30th through 4-H Online. For $15 per person, you will get a t-shirt and taco lunch to round out this deal of a day!

Our final Where’s Truman location has been revealed!

Truman was hiding at NEMR today! Congratulations to our final winner, Jodi Vasey!

Another day, another Truman sighting!

Truman has officially been found! Today, he was hiding out at Helena Agri-Enterprises! Thank you to this wonderful local business for joining in on the fun and supporting Sullivan County 4-H!

🍀 Club Spotlight: Newtown Community 4-H 🍀

Meet the Newtown Community 4-H Club!

Club Leaders: Seth Oaks, Joni Oaks, and Justin Oaks

- Cooking
- Horticulture

Newtown Community 4-H members stay involved in their community through several service projects, including helping with the Sullivan County Fair Cook Shack and the Sullivan County 4-H Blood Drive. In the past, members have also helped with improvements at Harris Junction and participated in Highway 139 clean-up efforts.

One club member shared what makes 4-H special:
