THE ORIGINAL CIVIC DUTY CONTINUING A 250-YEAR TRADITION Since 1776, democracy in America has been powered by ordinary people. That’s still true today, as poll workers across the country help their neighbors exercise one of our most fundamental rights: the right to vote. Whether they’re retirees or students, teachers or parents, professionals or coaches, these Americans come together every election season to serve their community and add to the legacy of free elections in our country.

EVERY ELECTION DEPENDS ON POLL WORKERS… Greeting voters, setting up equipment, answering questions and keeping things moving are just some of the duties poll workers perform. While it is often thankless, their work is critical to our democratic process. Our neighbors, friends and family members are the people who put in the long hours to help our community vote. Today is Election Hero Day. I hope you’ll join me in thanking the poll workers, election officials and election staff who make our elections possible.
