🎃👻 HALLOWEEN SAFETY REMINDER FOR TRICK-OR-TREATERS! 🍬

Halloween is this Saturday, October 31, and we want everyone to enjoy a fun and safe evening in the Village of Millbrook!

🚧 IMPORTANT: FRANKLIN AVENUE SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION 🚧

With sidewalk improvements taking place along the north side of Franklin Avenue between Front Street and Friendly Lane, we ask all trick-or-treaters, parents, and guardians to use extra caution. Families planning to trick-or-treat in this area should be especially mindful of construction zones, uneven surfaces, and possible pedestrian detours.

⚠️ PLEASE KEEP THESE SAFETY REMINDERS IN MIND:

🚧 DO NOT enter construction areas. Stay behind all barricades, fencing, cones, and caution tape. Even if workers are not present, construction areas may contain uneven pavement, open excavations, or other hazards.

🚶 DO NOT walk through closed sidewalk sections. If a sidewalk is blocked, use the designated pedestrian detour or find another safe route. Never walk into the roadway to get around construction barriers.

🍬 Parents and guardians: Please keep children close and make sure they do not enter construction zones to reach homes or collect candy.

🔦 Carry flashlights, wear reflective clothing, and use designated crosswalks when crossing streets.

🚗 DRIVERS: Please slow down and be especially alert for pedestrians and children near the construction area.

🧡 A little extra caution will help keep Halloween safe and enjoyable for everyone!

🚰 WATER SERVICE ALERT – ROUTE 343 ⚠️

Fire Hydrant Replacement & Temporary Water Shutdown

📅 Wednesday, November 4, 2026
🕘 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 Route 343 – Old Route 82 to the Golf Course

The Village of Millbrook Water Department advises residents that VRI Environmental Services will be replacing a fire hydrant on Route 343.

💧 TEMPORARY WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION

To safely complete this work, water service will need to be temporarily shut off.

⚠️ ONLY properties along Route 343, between Old Route 82 and the golf course, will be affected.

Crews will make every effort to minimize the duration of the water shutdown.

🚿 AFTER WATER SERVICE IS RESTORED:
Residents may experience temporary water discoloration due to disturbed sediment. If this occurs, run your cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as this important maintenance is completed.

🇺🇸 HONORING OUR HEROES – VETERANS DAY 2026 🇺🇸

Join us this Veterans Day as the Millbrook community comes together to honor those who have bravely served our country and pay tribute to one of Millbrook's own heroes, Charlie Johnson, Medal of Honor recipient.

🇺🇸 VETERANS DAY CEREMONY
We will begin with a special ceremony honoring the courage, dedication, and sacrifices of all who have served in our Armed Forces.

🎖️ MEDAL OF HONOR MEMORIAL DEDICATION
Immediately following the ceremony, we will unveil a permanent memorial dedicated to Charlie Johnson, recognizing his extraordinary heroism and sacrifice.

This memorial will ensure that Charlie's remarkable legacy lives on in the community he called home for generations to come.

❤️🤍💙 We invite our veterans, residents, families, and neighbors to join us for this meaningful occasion.

Let's come together as a community to remember, honor, and celebrate our heroes.

Who knew routine hydrant flushing could create such beautiful photo opportunities? On a gorgeous fall day, a little sunshine and a lot of water made for some pretty spectacular rainbows! 🌈📸

While the rainbows are a beautiful bonus, hydrant flushing serves an important purpose! 💧🚒

Regular hydrant flushing helps remove sediment from water mains, maintain water quality, and keep our water system operating safely and reliably.
