Everyone has their own reasons for loving Lake, and we love getting to share those stories!

Our staff members bring so much heart to our schools each day, and hearing what makes Lake special to them reminds us just how lucky we are to have the people we do.

Today, we're sharing another perspective from one of our amazing staff members about what makes being part of the Lake family so meaningful!

As we continue recognizing National School Bus Safety Week, we're reminding our Flyer Families and community that keeping students safe is a shared responsibility!

Whether you're behind the wheel of a car, waiting at a bus stop, or riding the bus, a few simple safety precautions can make a BIG difference.

Our Lake Flyer Athlete of the Week is Senior Gracie Hummel!

Gracie consistently demonstrates what it means to be a positive and dedicated Flyer. She comes to practice with a great attitude, works hard, and is always willing to put in the extra effort to improve.

Gracie is someone her teammates can count on. She encourages those around her, celebrates the success of others, and helps create a positive and supportive team environment. She handles challenges with determination and continues to push herself to grow both as an athlete and as a teammate.

Gracie represents Lake High School with pride and shows up with character, leadership, and commitment.

🚌💛 NATIONAL SCHOOL BUS SAFETY WEEK! 🛑🚌

October 19–23 is National School Bus Safety Week, a time to remind everyone of the important role we ALL play in keeping students safe on and around school buses!

Who better to share some important safety reminders than the people behind the wheel every day? We asked our Lake Flyer bus drivers to give us a little insight into their jobs by answering three questions:

What is your favorite part of being a bus driver?

What's one school bus safety precaution you wish more people would remember?

What's something people might not realize about driving a school bus?

Their responses offer a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to safely transport our students and serve as an important reminder that school bus safety is everyone's responsibility.

Whether you're a driver sharing the road, a parent waiting at the bus stop, or a student riding the bus, we all have a part to play in keeping our Flyers safe!

A special thank you to our Lake Flyer bus drivers for sharing their perspectives and for making student safety a priority every single day! 💙✈️

We're continuing to share the voices of our amazing staff as they tell us what they love most about being part of the Lake family.

From the relationships built to the memories made, each story is a reminder that Lake is more than just a school district. It's a community filled with people who care, support one another, and make a difference every day.

🚨 READING UNDER THE LIGHTS POSTPONED 📚🏈

Unfortunately, current weather models are indicating poor air quality and unfavorable breathing conditions throughout the day. With the safety of our students, families, and staff as our top priority, we have made the decision to postpone tonight's Reading Under the Lights event.

We know many of our Flyers were looking forward to this special evening, and we hope to reschedule soon!

📅 Stay tuned for a new date!

Stay safe, Flyers! 💙✈️
