VP-67 was a Patrol Squadron of the U.S. Navy Reserve. It was disestablished on 30 September 1994, after 24 years of service. - Wikipedia

The squadron was established on 1 November 1970 at NAS Memphis, Tennessee, where it was based for its entire life.

Yesterday was the century mark of the First Pacific Flight flown by Nashville's Jack Harding. Not one media outlet in Nashville covered it that I can find (WPLN and NashToday did cover the start). Several opened my MailChimp press release. WSMV opened it 12 times. I think one of the problems is that Harding has no profile on Wikipedia, so they doubt its true. But I have made six attempts to list him, complete with good source data. You can see the footnotes on my blog.

This historical amnesia only adds more to the narrative. Bluntly speaking: the USA is historically illiterate...
