Yes. We know you have a TON of questions. But heyā€¦.. did you read the BBA Handbook? No? Ok. Read it. Period.
Because I know half of you that called today, have NOT read any word in the handbook, and we can tell. So do YOURSELF, your detailer, your command and your Chief a favor, and read the handbook!

Good Afternoon from the Mid-South,

The torch has officially been passedā€¦. Back! OSC Mullen has taken over for OSC Oneil as the OS E5 & Junior Sea Detailer.

For those who have been around a while, this isnā€™t OSC Mullenā€™s first rodeoā€”he previously served as the detailer as well, so he already knows what he signed up for: endless emails, ā€œquick questions,ā€ and Sailors realizing their #10 pick was actually their dream billet.

All jokes aside, thank you to OSC Oneil for the hard work taking care of the OS community, and welcome back to the chaos OSC Mullen.

Good Afternoon from the Mid-South,

If you currently have orders to Bahrain šŸ‡§šŸ‡­ or have been selected for a billet in Bahrain šŸ‡§šŸ‡­ and are now trying to get out of the orders that you called, emailed, begged, applied for, and listed as your #1-5ā€¦ please remember this specific line of bravery and courage:

ā€œI (state your full name) do solemnly swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domesticā€¦ā€

We are NOT changing anyoneā€™s orders until we receive OFFICIAL guidance to do so. As your Detailers, we do not own or possess the authority to make that decision on our own.

Right now, we are all standing in the same limbo line. As soon as official word is received, action on orders and billet selections will take place immediately.

I know many of you have already heard this, and itā€™s probably not the answer you want ā€” but unfortunately, itā€™s the only answer we have right now.

OS2ā€™s that have TAKEN and PASSED the MOST RECENT advancement exam for OS1. You have to also currently hold the NEC, can apply to the below billet:

You have to be FULLY qualified for the billet. Meaning, you have to currently hold the NEC.

If you are an OS1, you cannot apply to OS1 A2P.

If you are an OS2, you cannot apply to OS2 A2P.

OS1 A2P, are for OS2ā€™s to apply to.

OS2 A2P, are for OS3ā€™s to apply to.

As for BBA. Please read over NAVADMIN 221/25. (ALL ELIGIBLE E6 candidates. This will take effect during the MARCH 2026 RKE Cycle. Sailors who pass the RKE may begin applying for advancement opportunities in the AUGUST 2026 MNA cycle.)

ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS NO ONE UP ONE DOWN. PLEASE APPLY ACCORDINGLY TO YOUR CURRENT RANK!!

To meet Department of War requirements, the Navy is implementing updates to the 2026 Physical Fitness Assessment.

Key changes:

- Active: 2 fitness assessments/year

- Reserve: 1 fitness assessment/year

- New BCA starts with sex-neutral waist-to-height ratio

- Actual scores now included in FITREPs/EVALs

- Introduction of the Combat Fitness Assessment/Combat Fitness Test for combat specialties

- Incorporating PT into the daily battle-rhythm
