Good morning District 1 Patriots,
Greetings from Galveston, TX. The first pic is the sunrise (not looking at the sun).
I wanted to share with each of you that the County Commission for more years than I can remember have given funding via a grant to Feed the Needy. They provide food boxes with a turkey and all the fixings @ Thanksgiving & a ham with all the fixings at Easter. I’ve passed out these boxes and have witnessed the tears and joy when a family receives the food. This year the funding was only available through our CEP grant funding. The previous Board put a hold on the program to help with our cash flow issues and to pass stronger rules.
I say all of that to say Feed the Needy needed the funding now to pay for the Thanksgiving food, so I requested the atty assigned to District 1 to find a way to get them their much needed funding. He did a great job and Wednesday I added on the item. District 1 provided $ 7,000. and the other districts teamed up to provide them the $61,000. budget they needed to FEED THE NEEDY.
This morning I reread Proverbs 3:27. I pray that everything “we” accomplish will glorify God!
