Millis resident and her son Jake stopped by the station with subs from Jersey Mike’s for the shift on duty as a kind gesture of appreciation for our officers.

Jake, who has autism, and his mom are connected with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, which partners with Crossroads Continuum to support individuals and families affected by autism through grants, community events, and collaborative programs.

Today marked the first day of school in Millis, and we would like to welcome back all of our students, families, teachers, and staff. We hope everyone enjoyed a safe and relaxing summer and has a great start to the school year.

Residents may have noticed a significant police presence in the area of Village Street this morning. The Millis Police Department responded to the area for a report of a missing 5 year old autistic child.

Upon arrival, officers immediately began searching the residence and surrounding property while additional personnel canvassed the neighborhood and nearby wooded areas.

The child was located approximately 100 yards into the woods and was safely reunited with their family. The child was not injured and was evaluated by the Millis Fire Department as a precaution.
Thank you to the responding personnel for their quick and coordinated efforts. Most importantly, we are grateful this incident had a safe and positive outcome.
