Another year of a great event that was successful due to so many people. Thank you all for helping us make this a success.

One thing we would like to share. This years event paid a tribute to a former member that passed away last year and was a big part to the Milltown Fire Taco Feed and the Balsam Lake Demo Derby for many years, Tom Larson. The shirts that were worn by the members at yesterday's event had tributes to remember Tom. Anyone that knows Tom would completely understand. Even though Tom wasn't much of a person for t-shirts, he almost always wore a shirt with a pocket. This years shirt had pockets with the words "Mm-hmm" on it because Tom was always agreeable. The other tribute that we had to Tom was on the back of the shirt. If you noticed that the word "Mi55" had the number 55 instead in place of the "SS", this is because Tom served on the department for 55 years. Tom was a very big part of the events and has already been very missed.

We served 720 people before we ran out of meat at 6:45pm. It was an unforeseen incident that we ran out of meat. We are very thankful to everyone that was able to attend and was able to eat. We are sorry that the meat ran short and hope that next year we won't have the same issue.

What a great way to spend your day.

This Saturday is going to be a fun and busy day!! The Gandy Dancer Marathon is also coming through our towns that morning! We're doing a fun table on our corner of the Gandy for the Community Club, come on out and show your support, there are going to be 150 runners!! It is a lot of fun cheering them on!

This is Tom, I'm a Flintsone not a Jetson so I don't know how to make posters or do any of that junk but I asked my phone to do it and this is what we got. I will however take credit for the phrase "You'll never frown when you're in Milltown!" Might have to put that on a shirt!

Wear sunblock and stay hydrated this weekend, it's gonna be hot!! Hope to see you all at Pumpkinfest next Saturday the 17th at Endeavors too!! We have such an amazing community, get out and enjoy it before we have 2 feet of snow and 20 below weather!! ❤️

Last week, Unity Fire had training for extrication from vehicles. The training was taught by Tim Snyder and the vehicles were provided by Strandberg's Auto in Centuria.

New techniques were learned, better tool placement and cutting techniques were learned, and tool maintenance after an incident were covered.

We do our best to be prepared for when you need us.

It's at least a three day weekend for most, so what you would normally do today, put off until tomorrow and come out to the Balsam Lake Fire Dept and watch the annual Balsam Lake Demo Derby at 1pm.
