Never Forget. 🇺🇸🚒
Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11th, the Uvas Volunteer Fire Department stops to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on that tragic day in 2001.
We pay special tribute to the 343 FDNY firefighters who selflessly ran into danger to save others, laying down their lives in the line of duty. Their extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and dedication to serving others represent the absolute highest standard of the fire service.
We also honor the 71 law enforcement officers, 55 military personnel, 8 paramedics and EMTs, and every individual whose life was cut short or forever changed on that fateful morning.
To the families who lost loved ones, to the survivors, and to the responders who continue to face battle with 9/11-related illnesses: you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget your sacrifice, and we will carry your memory in our hearts every time we gear up to serve our community.
343 Brothers. Always Remembered, Never Forgotten.

Happy birthday, Smokey Bear! 🎂🐻🔥

Since 1944, Smokey has helped generations understand a simple but important message: Only You Can Prevent Wildfires.

From properly extinguishing campfires to using equipment responsibly and following local fire restrictions, everyday actions can help prevent human-caused wildfires.

Here’s to 82 years of helping protect our forests and communities.
