The next meeting of our monthly Good Death, Good Life Café is tomorrow Thursday, October 15, starting at 4:30.

At this meeting, certified Death Doula, Dorothy Fischer, will talk about preparing for longer life spans. However, all questions about end-of-life and preparations for death are welcome.

What do you know about The SPARK?!

The SPARK is the library's makerspace and it's all about science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) activities. And it's available for everyone!

Everyday in The SPARK you'll find:
--a craft and all the supplies needed to complete the craft
--SPARK-its for in-SPARK use, including Legos, magnetic tiles, coding games, building blocks, robots, balance games, and so much more
--a large-scale Connect Four
--a drawing projector
--a ChompSaw Power Tool that safely cuts cardboard
--a gear and tunnel magnetic board
--a coloring table for littles
--a Mrs. PacMan arcade game system
--Albert Spinestein and his skeleton friends

Don't be shy! Come on in and create, build, invent, collaborate, explore, and learn.

We have some exciting news to share! The Friends of Milton Public Library book sale is becoming a BOOKSTORE! With a little rearranging in the lower level, we have created a bookstore space that will be open on a more regular - weekly! - basis.

The bookstore will be called Page 51! Why Page 51? Next time you check out a library book, take a look at page 51. We stamp every book with the library's address on that page.

But we need help to make that happen. We're looking for volunteers willing to take weekly, 2-hour shifts on a regular basis. And also substitutes! Right now, our tentative schedule is:
--Tuesdays, 1:00 to 7:00
--Thursdays, 9:00 to 3:00
--Saturdays, 11:00 to 1:00

At this time, we do have openings for Tuesdays from 3:00 to 5:00, Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00, and Saturdays.

We hope to have it open more hours in the future.

What will a Page 51 volunteer do?!
--Handle financial transactions
--Promote Friends of Milton Public Library membership opportunities
--Update Friends membership spreadsheet as needed
--Organize/straighten book shelves
--Sort and shelve incoming donations
--Share ideas on book sale promotions, specials, and other marketing opportunities
--Be a part of the Milton Public Library team!

Our hope is to open up Page 51 at the beginning of November. So stay tuned for the grand opening date!

We also have a number of costumes that were donated during the high school's National Honor Society Halloween Costume Drive. Most of the costumes are for youth. Come take a look!
