It's Friday, Milton! Let's hear it for the little things.

Holding the door for someone. Letting another driver merge. Checking on a neighbor. Or simply giving someone a reason to smile.

Small gestures, sure, but they're part of what makes Milton such a great place to call home.

And if you happen to inspire someone to return their shopping cart instead of leaving it in the parking lot, well played!

Lt. Noblett and the rest of us at Milton PD wish you a great weekend. Keep looking out for one another!

Three officers. One friendly reminder. And a whole lot of food trucks!

Crabapple is the place to be tonight! Wanderlust Food Truck Fest Crabapple is bringing the food, fun, and a little extra activity to Crabapple Market and Market District Crabapple.

The weather is fantastic and we're all for a good time (and good food), but with more people out enjoying the evening, let's keep an extra eye out for pedestrians, take it slow, and have a little patience navigating the area.

Come hungry. Drive carefully. Enjoy your Thursday, Milton!

TRAFFIC UPDATE 4:00 PM: Landrum Road

Landrum Road remains closed between 960 and 975 as crews continue working in the area.

Residents living west of 975 Landrum Road must use Birmingham Highway to enter and exit the area. Access remains restricted to local traffic only.

Work is still in progress. We appreciate your patience and will provide additional updates as information becomes available.

***ORIGINAL POST***

Downed wires on Landrum Road between 960 and 970 Landrum Road have prompted a temporary change in traffic access.

The barriers at Birmingham Highway have been temporarily removed to allow residents to access their homes. Landrum Road remains open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY. Please do not use this route for through traffic.

Milton Public Works has responded to the scene, and the power company has been notified.

Please use caution in the area and stay clear of any downed wires. We will provide updates as they become available.

A friendly Tuesday reminder: The road is one place where nobody wins points for multitasking.

Whether you're behind the wheel or crossing the street, a little attention goes a long way.

Drivers, slow down, put the phone away and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Pedestrians, look up, make eye contact with drivers and make sure it's safe before crossing.

The goal? Everyone gets where they're going safely, with no unexpected introductions!

Early mornings, busy afternoons and community events. Our Public Safety Ambassadors (PSAs) are there, helping keep Milton safe.

Whether they're directing school traffic before most of us have finished our morning coffee, conducting safety checks in our parks, supporting our cadet program or lending a hand at special events, our PSAs take on whatever the day brings.

To all of our PSAs, thank you for your dedication and willingness to step in wherever you're needed. Your contributions to Milton and the Police Department are invaluable, and we appreciate all that you do!

We met a lot of four-legged Milton residents at Crabapple Fest, and judging by these photos, they had a pretty good day!

They also gave us a good reason to share a reminder.

We regularly respond to calls about lost dogs. An open gate, a loose leash or a pup who sees something worth chasing can turn into a stressful search pretty quickly.
A few simple things can make a big difference:

🔹Check gates and fences regularly.
🔹Keep your dog leashed when you’re away from home.
🔹Make sure ID tags have a current phone number.
🔹Keep microchip information up to date.
🔹Have a recent photo handy, just in case.

We’d much rather see your dog out enjoying Milton with you than help you search for them later.

This month, our badges look a little different.

Throughout October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members of the Milton Police Department are wearing pink badges to recognize those currently facing breast cancer, celebrate those who have survived it and honor those we have lost.

For many of us, breast cancer has touched the life of a family member, friend, colleague or neighbor. Wearing pink throughout the month is one small way our department can show its support for every person and family affected by this disease.

It’s a small, temporary change to the uniform, but one that carries a lot of meaning.

We’re proud to wear pink!
